Abby Odom, Founder of Open
Abby is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area of California. She has been involved in the dental field since 1999. She started her clinical dental hygiene career in 2006 upon graduating at the top of her class from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry with a bachelor of science degree in dental hygiene.
Abby has extensive experience treating phobic patients, children, elderly patients, and patients with special needs. She specializes in creating ease and comfort for patients by customizing appointments for each individual. Abby worked in a specialty practice for three years in San Francisco where she exclusively treated patients with extreme dental phobias and physical and mental disabilities. She worked with patients in the office while they were under IV sedation or in hospital operating rooms utilizing general anesthesia.
Abby has been a member of the American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA) in the national and local components and the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) since 2005. She belongs to the American Teledentistry Association (ATDA). She is a Colgate Oral Health Professional Advisor and a contributing member of the National Dental Practice-Based Research Network. She is passionate about her career. She invests in continuing education in emerging dental techniques and technologies. She takes seriously the responsibility of caring for her patients with integrity.
Abby moved to the Front Range in 2009. When she is not providing direct patient care she enjoys cooking, entertaining, hiking, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.
